Safe Handling of Blood Training

The Safe Handling of Blood module was the final project in my internship, and it reflected how far I had come as an instructional designer. This course focused on bloodborne pathogens, PPE selection, and spill response, combining regulatory knowledge with real-life lab scenarios.

With a solid foundation in biosafety and stronger design confidence, I used Articulate Rise 360 and Storyline 360 to create a structured, interactive learning experience. I paid particular attention to sequencing, clarity, and the integration of knowledge checks that encouraged reflection rather than rote learning.

By this stage, I had learned to balance compliance accuracy with learner engagement, simplifying complex content without losing its meaning. This project confirmed the importance of clear visuals, intentional interactivity, and learner-centered design. It also affirmed my belief that effective safety training can build not just knowledge, but confidence and accountability in high-stakes environments.
